We have been Dropping Everything and Reading for 15 minutes during registration time, to build the habit of reading for leisure and making reading an essential part of our day.

D.E.A.R time is something that collectively as Mountain and Sky Phase we are making time for, with some teachers also taking part and reading simultaneously with students. This creates time for reading which might not have been allocated previously, to ensure that students give their books a try and find themselves hooked by the initial pages.

Our D.E.A.R time has been a great success, creating excitement around reading, sharing book recommendations, solidifying the importance of reading and always having a book in your possession.

At Bishopston Primary, as we continue to develop our reading habits, we are further establishing ourselves as avid and enthusiastic readers.
