Sea Phase (Reception/Derbyn) – Mrs Thomas

Mrs Thomas - Reception Teacher / Athrawes Dosbarth Derbyn

📖 Our new curriculum 2022

General Routine

Children will be required to change for Forest School and P.E.  Please support your child by encouraging them to dress/undress themselves at home, so that they are able to do so in school.  Try to send children to school in clothes that are easy to take on and off on these days. Thank you so much!

Forest School - Forest school is on a Monday.  All children will need wellies and waterproofs, please.  These can be kept in school, if required. Please ensure that all items are clearly labelled to avoid confusion and things going missing.

P.E Kit – P.E is on a Wednesday.  Please provide a suitable P.E. kit - T-shirt, shorts/joggers.  In the warmer months we will be developing our skills outside.  Please provide trainers for outdoor P.E.

Lunch time – Hot dinners are free for Reception children - you will need to get a log in for ipay from the office. For more information about school lunches, please visit our school lunch page. If your child is going to have packed lunch, please send in a suitable lunch for your child in a lunch box/bag. We are a nut-free school and have several staff and children with severe allergies. Please avoid sending in any nuts or nut-based products.

Drink / snack – Children will need to bring in one piece of fruit to eat at snack time.  We have snack time as a class.

Clothing – All clothing needs to be CLEARLY labelled, school uniform is encouraged and clothes that the children can manage themselves. E.g. for toileting, changing etc. For more information about school uniform at Bishopston, please visit our school uniform page.

Book Bags – Please send books bags in on a Tuesday.  They will be sent home on a Thursday.

Our main aim will be to get to know your child and help him/her settle in to life in Reception, learning lots of new skills along the way. Your child’s happiness is paramount to us. We want school to be a pleasurable, exciting experience, a place that your child enjoys coming to, a place where he/she can relax and be him/herself.

As always, if you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Thank you for taking the time to read this information. We hope it has been useful.
